Cytrans Elashield packshot

Resorbable Bone Graft Membrane

Cytrans Elashield is a resorbable membrane that combines ideal resorption rate with easy handling. It’s flexible and durable, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, and fixation methods.

Unique bilayer structure

The two-layer structure of the solid and porous layers combines appropriate strength with permeability to blood.

The solid layer has a smooth surface with no pores which prevents soft tissue ingrowth or bacterial penetration, ensuring the space necessary for bone formation.

Bilayer Structure

The porous layer integrates well with surrounding tissue, supporting ideal bone regeneration.

Ideal Resorption

Resorption Profile Suitable for Bone Regeneration

This membrane is made from a fully synthetic polymer, poly(L-lactide/ε-caprolactone copolymer) (P(LA/CL)), which has a resorption period of approximately 6 months - ideal for GBR (Guided Bone Regeneration).

After surgery, hydrolysis gradually reduces the molecular weight, allowing the material to dissolve in body fluids and blood, be carried away by the bloodstream, metabolized, and ultimately excreted from the body.

Flexible Membrane

Flexible Membrane

With just the right balance of firmness and flexibility, the membrane conforms well to the surgical site, making it stable after placement and reducing the risk of postoperative gingival dehiscence.

It is also compatible for use with bone tacks (pins).

Placement

Placement

When using Cytrans Elashield, please remove the silver backing before use. The surface from which the silver backing is removed is the solid layer. Place with the solid layer facing the mucosal side.
