近年、補綴修復は「削って被せる」治療から「残して接着する」治療へと大きく変化しつつあります。長期臨床成績や材料研究により、歯質保存が修復物の予後や咬合安定性に寄与することが示されており、接着技術やマテリアルの進化によって、支台歯保存を重視した審美的・機能的修復が現実的な選択肢となりました。
本セッションでは、最新のエビデンスに裏付けられた国際的知見、接着技術、補綴デザインの三つの視点から、「保存・機能・美の融合」をテーマに、補綴審美修復の最前線を探ります。

しかしそれは一方、ある種の危険性を孕んでいる。つまり審美性を追求するあまり、治療の本質を歪めかねない、と言う事である。審美修復治療と言えども、機能・構造力学・生物学等考察を合わせ持つ物でなければ真の修復治療とは言い難い事は自明の理である。
それ故、これを踏まえた審美修復治療の臨床的基準を確立する必要があり、同時に、症例が複雑で困難になる程、修復治療の前、中、後、それぞれのステップにおける、各分野（矯正・歯周・インプラント等）との連携が肝要となる。より洗練された審美修復治療達成の鍵を握るのは、各専門医との綿密・詳細な診断治療計画の練り合わせなのである。今回は、Esthetic Classification を私なりに再達成し、症例の区分・分類法を新たに加え、併せて、最新のマテリアルをその使用方法と共に解説しようと思う。
