ユニバーサルアドヒーシブが臨床に導入されてからすでに10年以上が経過しており，この間に技術の進歩や組成の最適化が進み，その臨床性能は向上してきた。その結果，近年では次世代ユニバーサルアドヒーシブと位置付けられる製品が開発，臨床応用されている。例えば，操作時間の短縮，湿潤条件下でも使用が可能，2ステップユニバーサルアドヒーシブシステムやレジンセメントのプライマーとして使用可能な製品など，多機能性と汎用性が向上している。
最近，アドヒーシブ塗布後のエアブローを省略可能にするとともにレジンセメントとの接触によって重合が開始するタッチキュア効果を有する新規ユニバーサルアドヒーシブ AFB-00（GC）が開発された。これらの新技術は，汎用性のさらなる向上と臨床操作の簡略化に寄与するもの期待されるものの，その接着性能に関する情報は少ないのが現状である。
本発表では，次世代ユニバーサルアドヒーシブの特徴を基礎実験のデーターから解説するとともに，新規ユニバーサルアドヒーシブ AFB-00 の接着性能について紹介する。さらに，直接および間接修復における次世代ユニバーサルアドヒーシブの臨床応用についても紹介する。

evolution of adhesive techniques over 30 years and focus on the new AFB adhesive with and
without air-drying, compared to different universal adhesives on the market. Besides
conventional microtensile procedures in different C factor scenarios we focussed on chewing
simulation in the Marburg Artificial Mouth as well as an innovative approach to extensively
fatigue resin-dentin specimens with one year water storage and 5 Mio. 100N load cycles - with
spectacular results.
