Why We Installed the teamLab Art Exhibition
We, GC Group, are a comprehensive dental care manufacturer producing products that dental health professionals use in dental clinics, dental laboratories, etc., and as well as preventive care products sold at dental clinics. With our management philosophy to contribute to global society through the improvement of oral health, we have supported the oral health of people worldwide for over 100 years primarily via dental health professionals.
Since GC’s founding, our company philosophy SEMUI (the practice of acting from the standpoint of others) has been our core principle, and cherished and embraced by successive leaders as well as GC Associates, whom we call Nakama. It has supported us in addressing numerous challenges over the years. To truly understand another’s standpoint, one must be free from selfish thoughts and think for the good of others.
Meanwhile, teamLab’s artworks liberate us mentally from our daily lives, allowing us to acknowledge our perceptions and explore new forms of perception while experiencing the continuously changing, borderless time through our immersion in artworks that transcend cultural and language boundaries. We believe this essence aligns with and inspires the practice of SEMUI. Therefore, we installed teamLab’s artworks as a symbol of SEMUI, representing the challenges we embrace with the spirit of SEMUI

チームラボ アート作品設置の想い
ジーシーグループは、歯科クリニックや歯科技工所などで歯科医療従事者が扱う製品や、そこで販売される予防製品を製造・販売している歯科医療総合メーカーで、「口腔保健の向上を通じ、地球社会に貢献する」を経営理念に掲げ、100年以上にわたり主に歯科医療従事者を通じて世界の人々の口腔健康を支えてまいりました。
ジーシーでは、社是として「施無畏（相手の立場に立って考え行動する）」を掲げており、創業以来、大切な精神として歴代の経営者、及び、なかまと呼ばれる世界中の社員たちが大切にし、幾多の挑戦の礎としてまいりました。相手の立場に立って考えるということは、自らの認識や価値観にとらわれずに、自らの心を無にして、相手を認識することとなります。
対して、チームラボのアート作品は、文化や言語にとらわれず圧倒的な没入感を通じて、日常から精神的に解放され、自らの認識と新たな認識を感じ、境目なく連続的に変化する“とき”を感じられるものであると考えております。それは「施無畏」の実践を促すものであり、世界のジーシーのなかまに対して、施無畏を象徴するもの、施無畏を礎とした挑戦を象徴するものとしてチームラボのアート作品を設置しました。
本アート作品を通じて、日常から精神を解放させ、新たな認識と境界のない連続性を体感いただき、その経験が皆様の幸せや新たな挑戦につながることを願っております。
