Learning objectives

• Learn about the different aspects of localized/complete rehabilitation of tooth wear with direct composite restorations.
• Learn about several methods to build up the teeth in the posterior region will: the stamp technique or the technique of free-hand modeling in combination with a conventional composite and the injection flowable technique.

About Prof. Dr Marleen Peumans

Marleen Peumans obtained her degree in Dentistry in 1987 at the Catholic University of Leuven. Thereafter, she followed a 4-year post-graduate program at the Department of Operative Dentistry. She applied herself, especially to the clinical use and the performance of anterior and posterior resin composites, bonded ceramic restorations, fiber-reinforced composite restorations, and bleaching. She took part in numerous clinical studies concerning dentine adhesives, posterior composites, and ceramic veneers/inlays/onlays. In 1997 she obtained the degree of Doctor in Medical Sciences. From 2004 she became Professor at the Catholic University of Leuven. She has several national and international publications on her name concerning clinical performance of adhesive restorations and bleaching. She is a member of the Bio-Emulation team and the GC Restorative Board.

• Provide a clinical and scientific revision of the rational use of metal-free materials in Prosthodontics
• Suggest some clinical hints validated by the most recent literature to properly select luting agents and cementation techniques
• Highlight the differences between conventional luting and adhesive bonding

About Prof. Dr Roberto Sorrentino

Dr. Roberto Sorrentino is a leading expert in prosthodontics and digital dentistry. He graduated with honors in Dentistry from the University Federico II of Napoli in 2002 and completed a Master of Science and PhD in Dental Materials and Their Clinical Applications at the University of Siena.

Currently an Associate Professor at the University Federico II, he became a Full Professor in 2017. Dr. Sorrentino is a sought-after lecturer and consultant for national and international dental companies, and he has authored over 170 publications in peer-reviewed journals, with contributions to several book chapters on prosthodontics.

Dr. Sorrentino has held leadership positions in major dental organizations, including as Past President of the Membership and Recruitment Committee of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR). He is also a member of the Italian Society of Prosthodontics and Oral Rehabilitation (SIPRO) and the Italian Society of Dentistry and Maxillo-Facial Surgery (SIOCMF). He is the co-founder of Zerodonto, a dental blog and community, and the Napoli Prosthodontic Team.

About Dr Javier Tapia Guadix

Javier finished dental school at the European University of Madrid in 2003. Working then as associate professor in the prosthetics department during 2004. In 2005 he started his career as professional computer graphics artist, focused on illustration, animation and application development. He founded the company Juice – Dental Media Design for this purpose. He received the Collegiate Merit Award by the Spanish College of Dentists from the 1st Region in 2005, for his collaboration in the commission of new technologies. In 2011 he founded together with Panaghiotis Bazos and Gianfranco Politano the Bio-Emulation group. He actively collaborates with several universities across Europe and is member of GC Restorative Advisory Board. Javier is an international lecturer with participation in numerous congress, hands-on courses and live courses. He published several articles in restorative dentistry, dental photography and computers in dentistry.

About Prof. Bora Korkut

Bora graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Dentistry in 2008. He had the ‘Ph.D.’ and ‘Restorative Dentistry Specialist’ titles in 2015. He has been working as an academic member as an Associate Professor at Marmara University, Dentistry Faculty, Department of Restorative Dentistry.

He has many national and international scientific publications about direct and indirect restorations, pre-restorative clear aligners, tooth bleaching, clinical dental photography, tooth wear, Cad/Cam restorations, magnification in dentistry, and caries diagnosis & management. He has participated as an instructor in more than 100 hands-on courses since 2015. He is the author of the ‘Anterior Estetikte Kompozit Restorasyonlar’ book published in Turkish by the Quintessence Publishing Türkiye in 2022 (best seller in the same year). It was translated in English and published by Quintessence Publishing Deutschland in 2024 as ‘Composite Restorations in Anterior Aesthetics.’

About Dr Mindaugas Kudelis

Mindaugas is a highly regarded dentist and international lecturer renowned for his expertise in composite fillings, guided implant surgery, digital dentistry, and indirect restorations. With a passion for hands-on learning, he excels in delivering dynamic workshops, lectures, and practical courses that emphasize skill-building and mastery in restorative techniques. 

After earning his master's degree in dentistry and general dentist qualification from the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in 2013, he expanded his academic horizons through the Erasmus Program at the University of Helsinki, where he further honed his clinical expertise. His early career began in a small family-run dental practice in Vilnius, where he cultivated a patient-centered approach and a deep appreciation for community-oriented care. 

Dedicated to advancing education in dentistry, Mindaugas serves as an educator with RIPE Global, a leading cloud-based dental education platform. Through his engaging teaching style and deep commitment to the art and science of dentistry, Dr. Kudelis inspires colleagues and students alike to achieve excellence in their clinical practice. 

About Prof. Joseph Sabbagh

Prof. Joseph Sabbagh obtained his master’s degree in restorative dentistry and his PhD in biomaterials from the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium. He also completed two Certificates of Advanced Studies in Biomaterials and Operative Dentistry from Paris-VII University, France, in 1997 and 1998. In 2020, he was awarded his HDR (Habilitation à Diriger la Recherche) from the Lebanese University in Beirut. He worked as an associate professor at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Lebanese University in Beirut in Lebanon for a number of years and now practices in Beirut and Brussels in Belgium. In January 2023, he edited and published the book Bulk Fill Resin Composites in Dentistry with Springer. Dr Sabbagh is active in clinical and in vitro research, having a particular interest in biomaterials, aesthetic dentistry and endodontics, and has had over 25 scientific papers published in indexed journals. He is a member of various associations and boards.

About Dr Anthony Mak

Dr. Anthony Mak is a highly skilled dental surgeon and practitioner specializing in dental implants, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry. About Dr Georg Benjamin

Dr. Georg Benjamin is a private Dentist in Berlin Germany. His office is focused on microscopic endodontics and Vital Pulp treatments. Together with Prof. Dammaschke is the author of the German and Dutch Book „Die Vitalerhaltung der Pulpa“ After the Berlin Bioemulation Symposium 2015 he was inspired to start teaching as well. He is an Educator for Rubberdam, Pulpotomy, Endodontics and direct composites. Mr. Benjamin studied dentistry at the University of Würzburg, Germany, and Umeå University, Sweden, graduating in 2010. He is also widely known within the German dental community as the creator and host of the country’s first dental podcast, “Saure Zähne”, which has become a go-to resource for dental professionals. During his career he was able to work together with leading Dentists like Dr. Martin Gollner and started his referral based office Kofferdam in 2022.

About Dr Lucile Dahan

Dr. Lucile Dahan is a private practitioner based in Paris, France, specializing in restorative and prosthetic dentistry. She is a laureate of the Académie Nationale de Chirurgie Dentaire, reflecting her dedication to excellence in dental surgery and patient care. Dr. Dahan holds a university diploma in Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry from Marseille, as well as a Master’s degree (Master 2) in Materials, with a specialization in Biomaterials. About Dr Stephane Browet

Dr Stephane Browet was born in 1972 in Asse, Belgium. In 1995, he graduated as a 

Dentist from the Free University of Brussels. He pursued a two-year postgraduate program in Aesthetic Dentistry there. 

He teaches both nationally and internationally on topics such as rubber dam isolation, microscope enhanced dentistry, cracks, posterior and anterior composites, and indirect ceramic restorations. 

He is currently an active member of the Bio-Emulation Group. 

Stephane is also a certified Life Coach, Certified High-Performance Coach and Certified Management Drives Partner. 

Learning Objectives

• Master Rubber Dam Techniques: Understand material and clamp selection, and become proficient in safe and efficient rubber dam placement for posterior and quadrant isolation.
• Cavity Preparation and Matrixing: Learn cavity preparation principles, bur selection, sectional matrix placement, immediate dentine sealing, and deep margin elevation for better composite outcomes.

About Dr Celine Higton

Dr Celine Higton studied dentistry at Kings College London, graduating with honours. She is a keen advocate for the use of minimally invasive and adhesive approaches to restorative dentistry and is a leading educator in this field. In 2023 she was invited to become a member of Bio-Emulation, a group that champions these principles and truly aligns with her raison d'être in dentistry. She strongly believes that rubber dam isolation should be considered as the foundation stone of all adhesive dentistry protocols and techniques. She is passionate about providing top quality dentistry and in turn strives to inspire others to do the same and be the best clinicians that they can possibly be.
