Restoring Function, Refining Aesthetics:
Comprehensive Solutions in Oral Rehabilitation
Rethinking Modern Prosthodontics
~審美補綴の今と、その先へ~
This session brings together outstanding young and mid-career clinicians from the international Bio-Emulation community, who will deliver lectures on achieving more natural shade matching—an essential aspect of anterior esthetic restorations.
The speakers, who are also scheduled to present at Bio-Emulation Paris 2026, will share the latest evidence and practical concepts for reproducing the morphology, texture, and optical characteristics of natural teeth using resin composites. Drawing from their extensive clinical experience, they will explore approaches to shade matching that closely replicate natural dentin and enamel.
Together with all participants, we hope to deepen our understanding of biomimetic esthetics and discover practical insights that can be directly applied in daily clinical practice.

However, on the other hand, it possesses a certain element of danger.
In other words, it has a possibility to twist the essence of treatment in an excess of seeking esthetics. It is an axiomatic truth that even the esthetic restorative treatment cannot be said as a real restorative treatment if it has no considerations of function, structural mechanics and biology etc together.
That is the why we have to establish the clinical basis for the esthetic restorative treatment now, considering this knowledge. At the same time, the more complicated and difficult the clinical cases become, the more cooperation with another field, such as orthodontics, periodontics, and implantology will be needed at each clinical stage before, during, and after treatment. Thus the key to success of more refined aesthetic restorative treatment is a minute and detailed discussion with the specialist of another field about the diagnostic treatment planning.
