In recent years, prosthodontic treatment has undergone a significant shift from a “drill and bond” approach toward one centered on preservation and adhesion. Long-term clinical outcomes and material research have demonstrated that preserving tooth structure contributes to the prognosis of restorations and long-term occlusal stability.
Furthermore, advances in adhesive technologies and dental materials have made esthetic and functional restorations that prioritize abutment tooth preservation a realistic treatment option.
In this session, we will explore the forefront of esthetic prosthodontic restoration through three perspectives: the latest international evidence, adhesive techniques, and prosthetic design. Under the theme of “The Integration of Preservation, Function, and Esthetics,” we will discuss how these concepts can be harmonized in modern restorative treatment.

However, on the other hand, it possesses a certain element of danger.
In other words, it has a possibility to twist the essence of treatment in an excess of seeking esthetics. It is an axiomatic truth that even the esthetic restorative treatment cannot be said as a real restorative treatment if it has no considerations of function, structural mechanics and biology etc together.
That is the why we have to establish the clinical basis for the esthetic restorative treatment now, considering this knowledge. At the same time, the more complicated and difficult the clinical cases become, the more cooperation with another field, such as orthodontics, periodontics, and implantology will be needed at each clinical stage before, during, and after treatment. Thus the key to success of more refined aesthetic restorative treatment is a minute and detailed discussion with the specialist of another field about the diagnostic treatment planning.
