Clinical Approaches to Esthetic Restorations in the Digital Era

グローバル視点で捉えるデジタル審美修復
~世界の臨床が導く精密補綴治療~

Esthetic restorations are rapidly advancing with digital technology. This session highlights how CAD/CAM materials and streamlined digital workflows improve precision, efficiency, and predictability. It also explores IOS‑based posterior restorations and microscope‑enhanced approaches for anterior esthetics, showing how digital tools refine both function and beauty. Participants will gain a concise overview of modern techniques that support natural‑looking, minimally invasive, and reliable restorative outcomes.

Adhesive Luting of CAD-CAM Restorations:
From Material Selection to Clinical Application

  • Understand the adhesive luting procedures for contemporary ceramic and resin-based CAD-CAM restorations.
  • Select appropriate surface pretreatment and cementation protocols for both tooth and restoration substrates.
  • Apply evidence-based adhesive workflows to achieve predictable and durable clinical outcomes.
Adhesive dentistry has become a cornerstone of contemporary restorative practice, underpinning nearly all tooth-restorative procedures. The continuous evolution of dental adhesive and restorative material technology has greatly expanded the clinical possibilities for minimally invasive, durable, and esthetic tooth restorations. In this lecture, the application of modern adhesive technology for luting semi-direct and indirect restorations will be addressed in a clinically oriented and evidence-based manner. Special attention will be given to the glass-ceramic and resin-based composite CAD-CAM blocks currently available for chairside and laboratory-fabricated partial crown restorations. The material-specific properties of these CAD-CAM restoratives will be discussed in relation to their compatibility with contemporary adhesive luting agents. Emphasis will be placed on understanding and optimizing both critical interfaces: the cement-tooth interface and the cement-restoration interface.

The New Trend in Digital Smile Workflows
with GC LiSi System ― Seeing is Believing

  • How to perform efficient Digital Smile Design
  • Turning 2D designs into 3D reality
  • Realizing digital biomimetic designs in the mouth
  • How to choose the right biomimetic materials
  • Precision prep under the microscope using the final shape as a guide
  • Making biomimetic temporary teeth
  • Choosing between different material options for the final restoration
  • How technicians recreate the smile design: details and steps
I am a dentist specializing in high-end esthetic treatment in Taiwan's premier district. To meet the high expectations of our patients, we integrate microscopic dentistry with digital workflows to ensure the final smile is perfected from the start—Starting with the end in mind.
Beyond precision preparation under the microscope, our exclusive biomimetic simulation—including Mock-ups and temporary prostheses—allows patients to see their future smile manifest at every stage. By incorporating GC materials, we streamline the clinical process and enhance biomimetic outcomes, empowering technicians to refine final veneers and all-ceramic crowns to perfection. In this session, I will demonstrate these detailed workflows, proving that Seeing is believing.

Clinical Strategies for Posterior Overlay Restorations in the Digital Era
― From Single-Tooth Restoration to Occlusal Rehabilitation ―

デジタル時代における臼歯部オーバーレイ修復の臨床戦略
― 単独歯修復から咬合再構成まで ―

  • Clinical decision-making for posterior overlay restorations using digital information, focusing on remaining tooth structure, occlusal relationships, and crack or wear risk assessment.
  • Practical concepts of preparation design and occlusal morphology for posterior overlays to minimize biomechanical risk under functional loading.
  • Clinical strategies to expand single-tooth posterior overlay restorations into comprehensive occlusal rehabilitation based on a minimally invasive philosophy.
