- Artificial intelligence will strongly influence the development of new materials, devices, and techniques.
- New dental materials will be cariostatic, bioactive, and anti-microbiologic.
- New materials will stimulate tooth structure regeneration and remineralization.
This presentation includes an overview and critique of the state-of-the-art for several categories of dental materials and techniques and suggestions for desirable improvements in each category.
The course is organized in the following sequence. Each category is presented as it currently exists with the advantages and limitations. Following the current state of each category, a discussion of what is still needed in the specific category is presented.
