After the Tsunami disaster of 2011, in Fukushima, Japan, GC Corporation felt compelled to expand their contributions in the dental industry – specifically in the specialty of orthodontics. At the same time, TOMY® Inc., the leading manufacturer of orthodontic appliances, was faced with a different dilemma. Although their manufacturing plant was minimally affected by the Tsunami, the plant was located within the evacuation zone of the damaged nuclear facility and TOMY® Inc. was forced to open a new factory in a new location. Instead of giving up, TOMY® Inc., felt it was essential to prove its resilience, payback their customers’ loyalty and reestablish its top place in the market.
Together, GC and TOMY Inc. met and agreed to terms that would bring them closer to achieving both of their goals. Soon after, GC Corporation formed a new division, GC Orthodontics, and assembled a team of associates whose expertise in the orthodontic market would make these goals a reality.

EXPERIENCE – a self-ligation bracket system available in both a standard and mini size. EXPERIENCE is also available in metal and ceramic in a variety of prescriptions. EXPERIENCE has a triple chamfered slot, smooth tie-wings, multiple opening methods, and a true compound contour, micro-etched, 80-guage mesh base for reliable bond strength.
LEGEND – a traditional twin, metal bracket system available in a medium and mini size in a variety of prescriptions. LEGEND is manufactured by Metal Injection Molding and has a laser cut CNC slot ensuring a consistent and more precise bracket. Just like the EXPERIENCE product line, LEGEND also has a true compound contour, micro-etched, 80-guage mesh base for reliable bond strength.
Chic – a twin, ceramic bracket system available in a variety of prescriptions. Chic is one of the most innovative ceramic brackets available today. Chic is manufactured by Ceramic Injection Molding creating uniformity, strength, and a true mechanical base.
Superelastic NiTi Wires – these NiTi wires are body heated activated and deliver consistent forces. The wires are available in a variety of arch forms and dimensions including: round (Initialloy), square or rectangular (Bio-Edge) and a progressive force option - available in square or rectangular (Bio-Active).
Sure-Snap & A-Fit Bands – both band options are available in a broad range of sizes for both bicuspids, 1st and 2nd molars. Bands are chemically etched, edge hardened and minimally stretched during contouring to assure the greatest strength and retention.
